Wireless bioDevices (now renamed as Mode Diagnostics) has been nominated for the prestigious Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Award 2007 in the 'Most promising new life-science company in Scotland' category. The company was one of three short-listed finalists, selected by a judging panel in November 2007, recognising excellence in new companies that are making a significant contribution to the industry. Nick Wood, interim CEO of Wireless bioDevices, said "This nomination is wonderful recognition of the pioneering nanotechnology we are developing, which will be of tremendous benefit to the medical world. We are working at chip-level to devise a new type of sensing capability that is not only the basis of SensaPill but also provides a platform for a whole range of medical products.
